Passionate Pet Lovers

Run a smoother grooming business—without it running you.

1-on-1 coaching for grooming professionals at every stage of ownership.

If you’re reading this late at night after a long grooming day—or thinking ahead about opening your own shop and wanting to get it right the first time—this is probably for you.

I work one-on-one with:

• Grooming business owners who want more control, clarity, and freedom

• Groomers preparing to open their first shop who want to avoid costly mistakes early

This is personal, practical coaching built around real businesses—not theory.

Let’s talk honestly

Most people don’t open a grooming business because they want to manage phones, schedules, staffing issues, or constant decisions.

They do it because they love grooming.

They want more control over their time.

They want to earn more doing what they enjoy.

They want freedom from working under someone else’s rules.

What most don’t realize—until they’re deep into it—is that being great at grooming and running a smooth business are two very different skill sets.

The Groomers Growth Institute exists to bridge that gap—whether you’re already operating or preparing to open your doors.

The longer systems stay broken—or never get built—the more stress and cost they quietly create.

A story that probably sounds familiar

Mari opened her grooming business because she loved the craft and wanted more control over her life. She was talented, dedicated, and willing to work hard.

But the early years were difficult—not because she wasn’t good at grooming, but because overnight she became a business owner.

Long days turned into longer nights. The phone never stopped. Scheduling, inventory, expenses, staffing, and constant decisions took over. The freedom she hoped for felt farther away than ever.

That’s when I stepped in.

With my background in business development and operations, we started putting structure around the chaos—clear systems, better use of time, and smarter ways of running the day-to-day.

Not overnight.

Not magically.

But permanently.

That business still operates successfully today.

What began as a single shop grew into a second location in a commercial space, and we are currently planning our third location—all built on the same systems and principles I now coach others through.

That real-world experience is the foundation of the Groomers Growth Institute.

Why good groomers struggle (and why it’s not a failure)

Many grooming businesses struggle—not because the owner lacks skill or passion—but because no one teaches them how to set up and operate a business that runs smoothly.

You go from grooming dogs to managing people, schedules, phones, inventory, pricing, and problems you never expected.

For some clients, the first improvement is surprisingly simple—like fixing how calls are handled so grooming time stops getting interrupted. For others, it’s getting clarity around hiring, scheduling, or costs before those issues quietly drain energy and profit.

Without structure, the business runs you.

This coaching is about changing that—early or late.

What I help with (1-on-1 coaching)

This is practical, hands-on coaching focused on:

• Setting up clear operating systems

• Time and schedule control

• Hiring, training, and managing people

• Front desk and phone workflows

• Inventory and cost awareness

• Making decisions with confidence instead of guesswork

I’ve worked with people at every stage—from groomers preparing to open their first shop to owners managing teams and multiple locations. The challenges change, but the foundation is the same.

No templates that don’t fit.

No generic advice.

Just what works in real grooming businesses.

How the coaching works

1. You call and speak directly with me

2. We talk honestly about where you are and where you want to go

3. I help you identify the biggest pressure points or blind spots

4. You leave with clarity—and usually one or two changes you can act on immediately

5. If it makes sense, we discuss ongoing 1-on-1 coaching

You don’t need to prepare anything, and you don’t need to have everything figured out.

Coaching philosophy & pricing

This is professional, paid, 1-on-1 coaching.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programs or dragging things out longer than necessary. The goal is to help you build a business that supports your life—not one you feel trapped by.

Most coaching relationships fall in the range of $195–$495 per month, depending on the level of support and where you are in your journey.

I only discuss exact pricing after the free 15-minute call, once I understand your situation and whether this is the right fit.

Most clients stay because the clarity and systems they gain quickly pay for the coaching itself.

If it’s not a fit, I’ll tell you.

This coaching is not for:

• People looking for shortcuts

• Anyone who wants someone else to blame

• Owners unwilling to change how they operate

Limited availability (by design)

what people say about me

I intentionally work with no more than 10–12 clients at a time so I can give each person the attention they deserve.

I typically reassess availability at the start of each month. If this page resonates with you, it’s worth reaching out sooner rather than later.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT ME

Henrys 20+ years as a professional groomer and business owner made him an invaluable mentor when I started my own grooming business. His guidance went far beyond grooming skills—he helped me understand marketing, pricing, hiring the right people, and managing finances with confidence. Just as importantly, he prepared me for the everyday hurdles I didn’t even know to expect as a new business owner. Having someone with his level of experience to lean on saved me time, stress, and costly mistakes. His support and real-world advice has truly helped me be successful today.

I’m incredibly grateful for everything my former boss has done to help me build my professional dog grooming business. His knowledge of business is truly exceptional—he understands not just how to run a successful company, but how to grow one with integrity, strategy, and genuine care.

With over 25 years of experience working with dogs, his expertise in animal care and grooming is unmatched. He was always willing to share his knowledge, offer guidance, and encourage me to believe in my own abilities. His mentorship gave me the confidence and practical skills I needed to turn my passion into a real, thriving business.  I wouldn’t be where I am today without his support, wisdom, and dedication. I’m deeply thankful for his impact on my career and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a true professional and mentor in the industry.

Megan Hegedus. Beachview Grooming, Manahawkin, NJ

Having Henry as a boss was truly an incredible experience. He built his business with a genuine family feel that made every employee feel valued, supported, and appreciated. Henry is extremely positive, kind, and motivating—he consistently pushed me and the entire team to do our best while always leading with encouragement and respect. His passion for grooming and for his people created an environment where both employees and clients felt at home. I’m incredibly grateful for the time I spent working with him and for everything I learned along the way.
